Space Flight Adventure Camp Offers Summer and Weekend Camps at NASA Wallops Flight Facility near Chincoteague Island on Virginia's Eastern Shore.

f you are interested in how and why rockets and spaceships fly, aerodynamics, astronaut training, microgravity, robotics, rocket launching, extraterrestrial travel, and the role of radar and weather, then Space Flight Adventure Camp is the place to be this summer!

Space Flight Adventure Camps are held at Wallops Flight Facility, an operational NASA installation located on Virginia’s Eastern Shore adjacent to Chincoteague Island, a picturesque family vacation destination. Space Flight Adventure Camp is sponsored by the Eastern Shore Regional Partnership, the Virginia Commercial Space Flight Authority, NASA, the U.S. Navy Surface Combat Systems Center, NOAA, the Marine Science Consortium, Eastern Shore Community College, the Chincoteague Chamber of Commerce, and the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce.

All camps are a mixture of excitement and fun, with hands-on experiences. Come and meet new friends and enjoy the adventure of learning about space.

Space Flight Adventure Camp, presented by the Virginia Space Flight Academy, offers week-long residential summer camps for students interested in learning about the science and engineering of rockets and space flight.

In 2008 seven residential camps will be held June through August for ages 11 to 15.  See the Camps page for additional information.

Blast Off to some special weekend or week-long camps for groups of 14-28 students!
In addition to our regular summer programs, which run from June through August, we now offer weekend and week-long programs for school groups of 14 to 28 students! Weekend sessions can be tailored to a curriculum in model rocketry, robotics, flight simulation or other programs such as astronomy, or weather and meteorology. Week-long sessions are based around our summer program which includes model rocketry, robotics, flight simulation and field trips to operational NASA, NOAA and Navy facilities.
