EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR VIRGINIA SPACE FLIGHT ACADEMY

The Virginia Space Flight Academy is a non-profit corporation dedicated to providing hands-on educational experiences in science, technology, engineering and mathematics to young people, primarily through our nationally recognized Space Flight Adventure Camps at the NASA Wallops Flight Facility. We are currently seeking a dedicated and energetic person who wants to help our students become the next generation’s leaders. This is a year-round job that requires a concentrated effort prior to and during the summer camp sessions and a reduced effort for the remainder of the year. Duties will include overall management of the corporation, including, but not limited to: planning and overseeing execution of summer camps; hiring and managing key staff; marketing/advertising and fund-raising; developing joint ventures and partnering arrangements; community outreach and developing policies, training and curricula Send resume and requested salary to Virginia Space Flight Academy, 13042 Conquest Point Lane, Hallwood, VA 23359.

Returning Campers

Returning campers are encouraged and welcomed at Space Flight Adventure Camp. We invite them to help first time campers, and share the knowledge they gained during previous sessions. Often returning campers bring a friend to share the experience and memories of camp.

Since our field trips remain the same each year, returning campers participate in many of the same experiences that they enjoyed as first time campers.

Scholarships

Thanks to generous support from local companies, deserving students can apply for financial assistance with camp tuition. Completed applications must be received no later than one month before the selected session begins, and must be accompanied by a $100.00 deposit.

If scholarship funds are not available, Academy staff can work with families to seek assistance from their own communities.
