FIRST-RATE STAFF

Our staff and counselors hail from some of the country's best universities and colleges (Purdue University, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, University of Alabama, and Arizona State University, to name a few). We seek a unique mix of STEM degrees and experience teaching students to ensure our programming is of the utmost rigor.

BASE CAMP

6-day, 5-night residential camp experience combining introductory courses in robotic and aerospace academics with behind-the-scenes tours of aerospace facilities and traditional camp fun.

  • • Design, build, and launch model rockets

    • Design, build, and program robots for specific tasks utilizing Lego Spike Prime with Scratch and Python coding languages

    • Safely operate drones (sUAS)

    • Team building engineering challenges

ADVANCED CAMP: AEROSPACE

6-day, 5-night residential camp experience focusing on model rocketry and drone operation. Features CAD and 3D printing, rocket flight simulation, multi-sensor payloads, behind-the-scenes tours of aerospace facilities, and traditional camp fun.

  • 12 -16 years old (at the time of camp session)

  • Space Adventure Base Camp Alumni or previous experience with rocketry.

  • • Build and launch multiple model rockets from scratch

    • Design rocket models and simulate rocket performance utilizing simulation software

    • Design and fabricate rocket parts with CAD and 3D printers

    • Launch, recover, and analyze data using multi-sensor PocketLab payloads

    • Safely program and operate drones (sUAS)

  • Week 5: July 21 - 26, 2024 (Boys Full)

6-day, 5-night residential camp experience focusing on advanced programming operations and complex robotics engineering design challenges. Includes behind-the-scenes tours of aerospace facilities and traditional camp fun.

ADVANCED CAMP: CODING & ROBOTICS

  • 12 -16 years old (at the time of camp session)

  • Space Adventure Base Camp Alumni or previous experience with coding and robotics.

  • • Introduction to Arduino coding

    • Build and code Arduino-based robots

    • Safely program and operate drones (sUAS)

  • Week 6: July 28 - August 2, 2024 (Boys Full)

ENRICHING ACTIVITIES

All camps include the following traditional camp activities:

  • Tour exhibits and interactives at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility Visitor Center

  • Climb to new heights at the Iron Pony Adventure Park’s aerial obstacle course

  • Ride go-karts, play miniature golf, and more at Funland Amusements

  • Movie and Astronomy Nights
